Hello!!
The purpose of this section is to talk about games on the console that I loved but would be way way too short to make individual shrine pages, in my opinion.
I decided that I will not only talk about Wii games but also Gamecube games because the Wii is compatible with Gamecube games and accesories.
I got my Wii second hand and hacked it. I got the console during early August 2024. I am not the most knowledgable about older games, or games in general, and I am playing the most of these games for the first time and going into them mostly blind. I am glad I know nothing, becuase all I see online is an all-or-nothing mentality about older games/game consoles. it is either people arguing that older games are shit and has to be remastered inorder to be anything, or it is that only old games are good and new games suck bad. Going into the whole thing blind lets me actually play the games unbiased.
The reason I decided to not make the Gamecube it's own seperate page is that I felt it would be disingenous to make one if I don't own the actual console. I would love to own a gamecube, however I am not made of money and would rather collect what I consider baselines to play older games, i.e. stuff thats backwards compatible. So the Gamecube is lumped in with the Wii. I am also playing these on an actual console instead of an emulator on pc is becuase I'm just a lazy hipster, I guess. The Wii has some stuff that could be hard to emulate idk :oP
This is one of the games I sought a Wii for, I kept hearing that it was a great game. I found it difficult, but I am just bad at games. I found the control scheme to be weird when using a wiimote
on it's side, I had to use a pillow to rest my hand on so I could press both buttons easier. It is one of the first games I played when I got the Wii. I haven't finished the whole game yet, I got stuck on Sandman during the first half of the game, before title defense is unlocked. I just took a break, its something that I'd just have to chip away at slowly. All the later fighters were like that. I did manage to knock out Super Macho Man on round one, but I don't think I'd be able to win as fast if I didn't figure out that you could do that.
The game has alot of personality. I am totally with the crowd hoping that it gets a port to a newer Nintendo console in the future, just for a new audience to experience the game.
Overall great game.
This is a definite 'must play' game, if it is on an emulator or original hardware.
However, I haven't finished it yet. I'm just saying that the stuff I did play is quality.

I am a dumbass hipster. I could easily emulate games on my laptop however I choose to get the original console for games because I just enjoy using the console for that type of stuff. Theres a completely different feeling between the two options, and I just prefer the feeling of using the original console. I do bend, in the regard that I hacked the Wii so I wouldn't have to dish out 100s of dollars to play a game I may not even like. The Wii is surprisingly cheap nowadays, it is like 60 dollars to get the system plus accessories on ebay. I won't be a hipster, in the regard of completely disregarding new releases. I'm probably will save up for the new Switch model whenever I get a job again, hopefully I'll have enough for that when it finally drops. I might even wait until a cool special edition that I like releases, I never owned a special edition of anything. I hope they do another Animal Crossing themed design, I really wanted one of those whenever that dropped. However, I already had a Switch and was an unemployeed teenager with 5 dollars. It is too close to the launch of the next model to justify saving up to get a special edition for a console that will be made basically obsolete in the next year or so. The second hand market can be brutal about those things too.
